The brick building from the second half of the 13th century is a typical example of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. While the sacristy, as the oldest component, still has purely Romanesque features, the new Gothic style can already be seen in the two-bay nave.
The upper floor and the octagonal spire of the tower, a "bishop's hat" typical of the region, were made in 1888. With its height of 56 m, the tower is a landmark that can be seen from afar.
