The Alperstedter Ried is one of the most biodiverse nature reserves in Thuringia with over 1200 plant and animal species. You must have seen that. But make sure you plan a lot of time for the three-kilometer moor trail. And always stay on the trails. Bikes and dogs must stay outside so as not to endanger animals and the sensitive habitats.

Beautifully laid out information path around the Alperstedter Ried with several stations. Ideal for exploring with kids. It takes around 1 hour all around. Nice rest hut.
