The dam of the dam Euba was built from 1911-1914. Interestingly, the builder was the Royal Saxon State Railway. In the time of the great industrialization in Chemnitz, this required a lot of water for steam locomotives in the then busy shunting yard Chemnitz Hilbersdorf. Since this task of the dam overtook, it was used from 1965 as a recreational area. Unfortunately, the dam was then increasingly in a very dilapidated condition, for which no money has been found so far. Therefore, the dam is now only minimally flooded and waiting for a savior. The region is still popular, and even today some sun worshipers found their way to the shores.
A usage concept is available, who can finance it?

The site itself is closed, but you can get a bit closer through various gaps in the fence. Unfortunately, there isn't much water in it, so only the dam is impressive and testifies to the size of the former dam. Nature takes back its place in the reservoir.

Nature has taken back a lot. Hopefully it will be a natural pool again.
