The beach here is quite rocky and not really well suited to swimming although that is allowed. Since it's not a swimming beach this is not a well known one making it a hidden gem. There are picnic areas and even some trails around the park. The road to get here is also really stunningly beautiful. The namesake of the river here, Joshua Slocum, is well worth looking up as an interesting historical note.
