Best Hikes to Pullingshill Wood WWI Training Trenches

Tips

  • Pullingshill Wood is a picturesque beech woodland which is home to the rare ghost orchid. Interestingly, the site was used to train troops before WWI and you can still observe the ditches and trenches used for such purposes.

  • It's worth seeking the trenches out - they're not far beyond the sign. They don't show up well in photos but are fascinating to see.
