Hiking Highlight
The Rotestein is a lookout point that is not easily forgotten. It can be easily reached via a hiking trail from the Stemberghaus charcoal factory and, at 505 meters high, offers a fantastic view of the Rappbodetalsperre, the largest in terms of volume in the Harz. However, you cannot see the 100 meter high dam from the Rotestein. On the other hand, when the view is clear, you can see Wurmberg and Brocken. A great vantage point, especially at sunset!

The Rotestein (503 m above sea level) is located near the Köhlerei Stemberghaus near Hasselfelde. It is an interesting vantage point high above the Rappbodetalsperre and offers a beautiful view over the shimmering water of the dam to the Brocken summit.
