View from Mondhalde

This fascinating viewpoint is the "Mondhalde". The view, or rather the almost panoramic view, is much more than the 150 degrees mentioned. However, it does not extend from Oberbergen to the Totenkopf, as Frank writes, because both are in the same viewing direction (i.e. Oberbergen in the southeast in the valley of the inner Kaiserstuhl and behind it the wooded massif of the Kaiserstuhl with the Totenkopf as its highest point!). The view, however, extends over large parts of the Kaiserstuhl with the towns of Sasbach, Jechtingen, Bischoffingen, Burkheim from the north to the southwest (behind them the Rhine meadows as well as Alsace and the Vosges), in a southerly direction the towns of Oberrotweil and Oberbergen (behind them the Kaiserstuhl mountain range with the Totenkopf and smaller mountains such as Kirchberg, Büchsenberg, Schlossberg, Schneckenberg) and in the east the striking and interesting Badberg with the Haselschacher Buck in front of the Eichelspitze with tower (as the second highest mountain in the Kaiserstuhl). In the southeast (if visibility is good) parts of the Black Forest appear.
The half moon also offers a very nice resting place to combine vespers and watching!

Beautiful viewpoint with a small gazebo. Here you can take a break and have a great view all around.
