An old Cistercian monastery, from which there are still some monastic and farm buildings. The church itself is a very worth seeing ruin, its paradise today a small church, in which also weddings are celebrated. The monastery also has a beer garden and a (too expensive) restaurant. Children's playground and many beautiful corners complete this wonderful place.

    Super nice place!
For 2 € you can get into the monastery through the turnstile at any time of the day or night.

In summer a wonderful place to discover or just to relax in the beer garden. There are also plenty of hiking trails in the area. If you leave the monastery in a northerly direction, you come to a wonderful, quiet valley with some benches, in which the creek weather makes its way.

Arnsburg Abbey (also Arnsberg Abbey; Latin: Castrum Aquilae Monastery) is the partially preserved monastery complex of a former Cistercian abbey and has been a district of the city of Lich in Hesse, Germany since 1977. The abbey was founded in 1174 and closed in 1803 in the course of secularization. After the monks left in 1810, the monastery belonged to the Counts of Solms-Laubach, who still use parts of the baroque buildings in the complex as a palace, while the late Romanesque and early Gothic parts of the church have been preserved as ruins. A war cemetery has been located in the former cloister since 1960.

The Arnsburg Monastery is a partially preserved Cistercian abbey. The parking lot in the courtyard is an ideal starting point for tours on foot or by bike.

The Arnsburg Monastery is within walking distance between Muschenheim and the Peterseen Lakes. Circular hikes with an additional goal to the Munzenburg in Munzenberg are highly recommended.
In summer you can stop off at the monastery and relax from hiking under old trees with home-style cooking.
    Here is some additional information:

The war victims cemetery has been located in the cloister since 1960. The corresponding information boards are worth reading and report interesting details about the origins of those buried here.
This area can be visited without admission, but there is a donation box.
