Aigues-Mortes has an impressive old town and is one of the largest still preserved medieval fortress towns (Wikipedia) The main attraction is the completely preserved city wall with the defense tower "Tour de Constance". The battlement on the city wall is accessible; from it you have a beautiful view of the streets of the city, which are arranged like a chessboard
