The Ernst August tunnel is the youngest, longest and deepest water solution tunnel in the Upper Harz mining industry. The tunnel was named after King Ernst August I of Hanover. In 2010 he was appointed as part of the Upper Harz water shelf as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO under the name of Rammelsberg mine, old town of Goslar and Upper Harz water management. [1]

Not far south, small trout pond with banks. There you can sunbathe, which you missed in the tunnel.
