The visible trenches result from the events of the Second World War. A line of defense that belonged to the Siegfried Line ran here. The Siegfried Line, also known as the Siegfried Line, was a military defense system distributed over approx. 630km along the western border of the German Empire, which consisted of over 18,000 bunkers, tunnels and countless trenches and anti-tank barriers. Former cusp lines can still be seen in Tettingen and Orscholz today. Source: Text information board
