Ponale Alto

The great cycling and walking path used to be the official link between Riva del Garda, Biacesa, Lake Ledro and the village of Pregasina. Today they are replacing two tunnels. All the better for us, because the path with the always fantastic view is a real athlete's highway, that means, perfect for everyone whether on foot or on the bike.

Easily feasible for everyone. The path winds always up the mountain with a great view of the lake. At the middle station "Ponale" one expects a small economy with great seating and view on waterfall and lake. The path can be made by mountain bike or on foot - i.d.R. well separated from each other. If you like you can go on to Ponale. There are still a lot of opportunities open up here - again, a good rest stop with great Panna Cotta, I've been told. Have fun.

The October sun shines on the Ponale in the morning and there are wonderful views. Outstanding, breathtaking and great - simply a must for hikers and cyclists, although it can be crowded so pay attention to the time, day and season.

The Ponale Road is used by hikers and mountain bikers alike. The way was u.a. repaired after an accident in 2017 and closure in the same year and the danger spots defused (rockfall nets), i. all large stones, cracks and bumps have been removed and a fence has been erected almost everywhere. At weekends and in the travel time sometimes very crowded, as this is the only way for hikers and bikers to "up" to the Ledro Lake.

Great little Albergo to make a stopover. A small "workshop" with the most necessary tools is also set up for bikers. Small snacks and drinks are available here. Amazing view from the "terrace"
