      Corridor Bödigheim
The ecumenical corridor chapel stands on a hill between the villages of Seckach, Großeicholzheim, and Bödigheim. The 9 meter high tower of the building is transparent and translucent from the outside. Inside, however, the tower is completely closed: an introverted space of worship and tranquility. The distance between the slats appears to be exactly the same in the interior when Blich up by the perspective effect. This does not make the distance up measurable. This alienation of the perspective effect makes the interior of the chapel an abstract body. This is at the same time intimate and yet limitless.

The pedestal represents the transition between the worldly and the divine. The secular is represented by the forecourt. The visitors arrive in the vestibule via the podium, which is open on all sides. Surrounded by wood, there is only a view up to the sky and the tower that holds the actual chapel.

The new hall corridor was designed by American architecture students at the IIT in Chicago, led by Professor Flury, and completed by the students within 2 months. The material has been donated and, if necessary, local companies participate free of charge.

Ecker architects acted as German contact architects for this non-profit project: planning permission, static analysis, detailed work planning as well as the coordination of the participants on site were the responsibility of Ecker Architekten.

A nice place for a little break. This chapel has an interesting architecture, it seems transparent on the outside but you can't see the sky from the inside.
