Idyllically situated in the forest, easy to get around. Fish nature trail included. Nice destination.

The pond, which is very idyllically located in the middle of the forest at Eckenhaid, is the largest body of water in the Eckental fishing association with a total area of around 3.5 hectares.

The water was leased by private since 1981. The Hormesweiher is the only body of water in the history of the FVE for which there were day passes for passive members and guest anglers. As the paragraph of these cards has shown, this water must be a challenge for every angler.

Until the pond in Ebach was completed, the annual king fishing took place at the Hormes pond. It was only through the construction of the management building in Ebach and the expansion of the pond that the event, like the fishing festival, was moved there. The waters had catfish stock for years, which was proven by fish already caught. When fishing in November 2008, however, there was no Waller Hormesweiher - and no fishing card.

In 2008 the fishery association bought the pond, drained it and renovated it from scratch. The pond was drained until the summer of the following year. Outside, the dams were renovated, a new monk was put in place and most of the silting from the past 20 years was reversed. In autumn 2009 a first part of the stock came back into the pond. Thanks to the rainy winter 2009/2010, the congestion goal was reached again in spring 2010 and the water was populated with fried fish seedlings. The new predatory fish population will follow in autumn. From 2011 the pond will be released again for the club members.

Guest anglers can only buy day passes for the Hormes pond when accompanied by club members.

There is also a fish nature trail and benches to rest here. The pond is nice to circumnavigate by bike or on foot.
