During the Second World War, a German first aid station was set up here in the hinterland of the West Wall. During the Battle of All Souls in 1944, American troops ran into a disaster in the Kalltal and had to retreat with heavy losses. The Lukasmühle was so badly damaged in the chaos of war that the sparse remains were leveled in 1951. The first documented mention was in 1569 when mill operations officially began - the Lukasmühle was demonstrably inhabited for 375 years. At times there was also a schnapps distillery located here.
