The Blind Lake is a very idyllic moor lake in the middle of a larger forest area of the Dürmenting Forest. The lake and the moor surrounding it are protected today. The lake lies in a hollow form, the formation of which goes back to the formation of dead ice at the end of the crack ice age. After the dead ice block had finally been defrosted, the trough filled again with water - a small lake was formed that gradually moored from the edge. Even before the First World War, the lake was completely "blind", i.e. silted.
