Hiking

Siemens-Elektrowärme GmbH has been producing household and heating devices here since 1922. During the Second World War, the plant worked with foreign prisoners of war and forced laborers for armaments. From 1946 onwards, the plant started producing irons and hot plates again. In 1948 the company was nationalized by VEB Elektrowärme Sörnewitz. The range was expanded and in addition to the household appliances, switchboard frames were manufactured. In the course of the turnaround, the plant was closed, the building gradually fell apart and was extensively renovated in 2010. (Source historisches-coswig.de)
