Visit by reservation - Also accessible to the disabled. It was donated in 1218 to San Francesco by the Benedictine monks of the nearby monastery of San Giustino. The medieval church of Santa Maria della Santissima Pietà was annexed to the monastery of Farneto. In the church there are copies of a triptych by Pellegrino di Giovanni and a painting of the thirteenth century, depicting the Madonna, the Child Jesus and some scenes from the Passion, attributed to the Maestro del Farneto. The originals are located in the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia. From the original period, only the small chapel in the woods remains, built around 1300 in the place where St. Francis went to pray.
