Very nice route always directly along the Old Rhine. The entrance to St.Margrethen is barely visible on the map due to the sheer highway, railroad, etc. There is also no major cycle route there. But very easy to drive.
Some of them run right next to the motorway, but are practically always separated by noise barriers.

Dusty dirt road. Then it's time to clean your bike. The noise protection wall dampens things a bit, but you can still hear the AB clearly and always have a view of the gray wall to one side. Idyll is different.
