The Waldnerturm, also called the "four-tower tower", is about ten meters high and is located on a 267 meter high saddle between two clearly higher hills, the Kreuzberg and the Bocksberg. For what? The tower was intended as a venue and resting place for noble hunting companies, later he was a weekend hostel of a youth organization. After all, you have a top view here to one side: to the west you have a clear view of the Rhine plain. Opposite, you can already see the drumming and look forward to climbing it by bike. Speaking of: once climb the tower is also one of them. By the way: There is a fireplace here - if the break should be a bit luscious.

Nice tower but probably an early marketing gimmick of the builder

Coming from the Juhöhe there is a nice trail to this tower. Beautiful all-round view from above, especially of the Odenwald in the east. Via the Teufelslochweg you can quickly get down to Hemsbach.

The Waldner Tower, also called the Four Knights' Tower because of the four sandstone knights on the corners of the tower, belonged to the Lorsch Monastery. According to old stories, there was a secret passage from here. In any case, you have a great view over the Odenwald and the Rhine plain from here.

Here you can take a nice break. The view goes freely to the west to the Rhine plain or to the east to the Tromm ridge. The tower is accessible.

Waldnerturm. Also called the four knight tower because of its four knight sculptures in the corners of the building. The walkable tower was built in the middle of the 19th century by the owner of the Waldnerhof in the old style for hunting parties. Today you have a beautiful view of the Rhine plain and the Odenwald to the east.
Tip: put on your helmet when you climb the stairs.

Did the tour today, 4.8.19 for the first time. I (57, untrained) made the first climb up the church, albeit in the lowest gear. Once at the top it is quite easy (slightly downhill, then slightly uphill) towards Birkenau. After Birkenau there is a decent descent and it was to be feared, then comes back down again. This also happens when you turn right into the forest after a piece of road. The gravel path badly pulls up the mountain and in the end nothing helped, had to dismount and push. What I want to say with this: The tour is easily described, which definitely applies to the underground. At the fitness level, it should at least be mentioned that you should at least have made a few climbs before you can make this climb. After that, it feels like it's just going downhill. A little rest at the tower, which is really wonderful and worth seeing in the landscape. From the tower back to the starting point (church) it is then only a relaxed downhill slide.
My conclusion: Nice route with two challenging climbs, where I had to descend once.
