I didn't even know that Bad Elster has a ski jump. The facility is very idyllic, definitely make a detour from the Ringweg near Bad Elster!

Elster Schanze
Ski jumping has a long tradition in Bad Elster. As early as the mid-1920s, there was the first ski jump in the so-called "Kessel", directly on the popular Ringweg Bad Elster. On January 11, 1959, the Weiheprung of the first Elsterschanze took place, the plant was completely rebuilt in 1995.
The Elsterschanzeanlage used and maintained by the Skiteam Bad Elster offers today for training, practice and learning a mini-ski jump, a small ski jump, a middle jump and the big jump. The hill record of the Big Jump is currently 48 meters.

Secluded in the forest is this gem of the Vogtland winter sports tradition. The beginnings go back to 1922. Training is currently only possible on the small hill, the other two are in poor condition. But there is hope: the two large ski jumps will be rebuilt and modernized.
