The barrage Oldau at Hambuehren in the district of Celle is one of four barrages in the Aller, a tributary of the Weser. It consists of a weir and a listed hydroelectric power plant in an all loop and a ship lock nearby in the lock canal.The only hydroelectric power plant in northern Germany, which has been largely preserved in its original state, is located in Oldau on an island created by the canalization of the Aller.
