The summit of the Scheffauer on the south side you reach first on a gravel slope, then on several via ferrata passages (difficulty A / B), which are well insured in the upper section with wire ropes.

More of an alpine path with a safety rope almost at the top than a via ferrata. In the meantime, the ropes are so loose that a via ferrata set is more dangerous (false security) than helpful. You have to be able to climb freely (1st degree) and feel comfortable on the partly exposed paths in order to be out and about here. All rather easy, but an easy alpine tour and not a hike or a fully secured via ferrata. Be careful when it gets wet, because the rock part has already been slimmed down.

Great vantage point with a great view of the Hintersteiner See.
Demanding tour. You mostly walk in the sun, which should be taken into account when planning your tour.
