A museum built on the location of a Roman castellum, featuring an original Roman ship which was excavated during building the new housing area Leidsche Rijn of Utrecht.
Very beautifully displayed, interesting also for children. Nice museum restaurant with great pizza and Italian food.

The archeology museum of Utrecht is housed in Castellum Hoge Woerd. Admire the 2000-year-old Roman ship with its complete inventory, climb the walls of the imposing fortress and travel through the history of man and landscape. A unique and interactive museum for young and old, admission is free.
