The Rother Wartturm is the symbol of the village of Rothe, the smallest municipality in the city of Beverungen.
This tower was built in 1429 as part of the establishment of the Landwehr of the old prince-bishop-Paderborn town of Borgholz. The tower is 10 m high and made of quarry stone. The entrance is 5 m high and can only be reached with a ladder, so the tower keeper could withdraw to the upper room in an emergency and warn the population of Borgholz of enemies with lights or signals.
Today the tower is in the district of Rothe and can be viewed from the outside. All around there is a great view in almost all directions.
Up until 1895 there were also ramparts from the Landwehr, unfortunately the material was used to build roads.
