The Alt Tellin windmill was built as the Schmidtsche Mühle in 1765.
The windmill is almost complete. The rear rosette for maintaining the wind direction is missing.
Unfortunately, the small wheel for the wind direction is missing.
The mill is surrounded by the mill yard with stable, house and ditch.Source: heimat-mecklenburgische-seenplatte.de/Denkmale/industriedenkmale/muehle-alt-tellin/windmuehle-alt-tellin-vg.htmThe Alt Telliner mill is the only mill besides the Neubukow mill that still has the remains of what was once the most powerful wing system in historical mill construction - Bilausche Ventikanten. These originally come from the Niendorfer Mühle on the Elbe. In 1954, with great privation, the wings were brought here and added on. But the effort wasn't worth it. Due to the chronic shortage of materials, no one was able to maintain the wings. So from 1960 the mill only worked with the connected electric motor for the production of compound feed for the local LPG. Over time, the wind tore off parts of the wings and the cladding. After the end of production in 1990, the mill, patched up with sheet metal, looked miserable. But she managed to repair the exterior - she got her clapboard dress back. Fortunately, efforts to relocate the mill or set up a restaurant came to nothing ... Today it is the only windmill with completely preserved grinding technology in the Demmin region.
An enthusiast - who takes care of the mill - is wanted.Source: zwillingswindmuehlen.de/muehle-a/alttellin2/alttellin2-1.htm
