“Good luck building to God in the Gaisberg” Mica flakes, shiny coal, so-called Zugstein and pyrites embedded in the sandstone repeatedly raised the hope of finding ores or even precious metals in the rock. Prelate Oetinger in Murrhardt knew how to arouse interest and enthusiasm for mining ventures around 1772. Unscrupulous adventurers joined the movement. Various tunnels were built. Among them this one, which was around 22 meters long. New investors were repeatedly found with supposedly successful smelting attempts. In 1776, however, hope faded and the mining attempts were stopped. Captain Johann Kaspar Schiller, Friedrich Schiller's father, was also among the investors. His invested money was also lost and “Spiegelberg” was not associated with good memories in the Schiller household. Friedrich Schiller therefore called “Spiegelberg” the worst villain in his “The Robbers”. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Räuber
