One half rough farm track and the other half a smooth gravel descent (or climb depending which way round you tackle it). An alternative way of descending from Stannington into the Rivelin valley avoiding the main roads.

Tarmac to gravel to rutted mud. Lovely short, steepish climb. Very fun as a descent, just make sure you brake in time so you don't run straight into Manchester Road.
