In August and September 1944, the headquarters of the "Kampinos" Group - a guerrilla grouping of the AK Army fighting in the Kampinos Forest was located in Wiersze. A war cemetery was created in the village, where 54 AK soldiers who were killed during the battles with Germany were buried.
