A wonderfully wide view over Wuppertal you have from the Toelleturm. With its 26.25 meters, it towers high, at an altitude of 330 meters in the south Wuppertal. Publicly accessible, it lies on the edge of the Barmer forest, one of the largest private parks in Germany. The Toelleturm was already built at the end of the 19th century (1887) as a gift / foundation for the children of the Lower Barmer textile manufacturer Ludwig-Ernst Toelle. After the Toelleturm incidentally, the adjacent district was named.

Around the Adolf-Vorwerk-Straße are some nice meeting places: There is a playground and nice benches around the tower. At a self-service pavilion, a host sells ice cream that has only one flaw: it's too tasty. The waiting time is on hot summer weekends like once an hour. Sometimes a second ice cream vendor even misses his sales bus and makes good deals for his part. The atmosphere is worth seeing and reason enough for a detour.

If the weather is suitable, the tower offers a remarkable view. Between Nützenberg (Weyerbuschturm) and Königshöhe (Von-der-Heydt-Turm) you can look west to the Rhine. In the north, the viewer is the valley with the Wupper and the suspension railway at your feet, in addition, the northern elevations, in the east Langerfeld and parts of Westphalia and in the south Remscheid and Radevormwald can be seen. The Toelleturm is owned by the Barmer Beautification Association and is open on Sundays and public holidays when the weather is nice.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toelleturm

The area at and around the Toelleturm, including the playground with a detour to the Vorwerk Park, is always a worthwhile destination. Not to forget an "ice spring". Barmer plants to the south are also included. And if you want even more, you can hike south from the tower to the former military training area Scharpenacken.
