Beautiful four-wing complex, 1551 by Heinrich von Gersdorf after the acquisition of the adjacent monastery. Renovation of the abbot's house in the style of the Saxon Renaissance. In 1623 it was bought by Elector Johann Georg I of Saxony Dobrilugk and further expanded. His son Duke Christian I of Saxony-Merseburg completed the castle in 1676

The castle in Doberlug-Kirchhain is visible from afar. If you come from the direction of Rückersdorf, you drive straight to the castle. The castle was only extensively renovated in 2015. Unfortunately, the use is limited to a few irregular exhibitions.
