If no attempts are being made, the road can be used. You can see different engine test stands. The Lampoldshausen location also houses the Institute for Space Propulsion, the branch of the Institute for Technical Physics and the DLR School Lab.
The first upper stage of the European Ariane 6 launcher was delivered at the beginning of the year. The fully functional test module will be subjected to extensive tests at the DLR site in Lampoldshausen over the next few months. The aim is to qualify the rocket upper stage as airworthy - an important step on the way to the first flight, which is planned for the second quarter of 2022. The delivery container is right on the way.
