A historic village on the edge of Blindley Heath, Godstone features in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Wachelstede. The village still has many interesting buildings from days gone by such as the Alms Houses, built in 1872 and a 16th-century pub. Farming and mining have played a big role in the village and in the 17th and 18th centuries, stone was quarried from the North Downs.
The village has lots of amenities such as cafes, pubs, restaurants, newsagents, a craft shop and post office. You can find more information, here: godstone.net.
