    Shallow water area redesigned
Work on the compensation project began in November last year. A part of the southern bank was redesigned to create a shallow water area 50 to 80 centimeters deep. For this purpose, the rear part of the concrete walkway was broken off and a correspondingly natural area was created. To the north and east of the jetty, a shallow water zone has been formed over an area of 2,860 square meters. The previous bank reinforcement was dismantled and modeled on a natural bank zone. The shallow water zone north of the concrete walkway was planted with reeds, the smaller area to the east with sedges, a species of plant from the sedge family. The anti-feed fence is intended to protect the plants so that they are not immediately eaten again by the geese.

The biotope is located directly on the hiking trail, e.g. B. Remstalweg or Rems loops.
