Just before you pass the swing gate there is a perfect resting place under the trees to catch your breath. In my opinion, the fens here are among the most beautiful in the Netherlands! An oasis of tranquility, with nothing but sounds from nature. Especially in August you can enjoy the beautiful colors of the flowering heather. But it is also beautiful here in spring with white dots of peat fluff, scattered around the water. If you look closely (but stay on the paths!) there is also a good chance of spotting small round sundews, a carnivorous plant.
