At 612 m, the Arzberg is the highest point in Hersbruck Switzerland, on which there is a lookout tower. The tower, the guardian of the Hersbrucker Land, is visible from afar - the symbol of this area. Built in 1885 by the Hersbruck beautification association at the time, the tower was intended to boost tourism in this scenic area. The Arzberg tower can be reached on well-marked footpaths through beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests. You reach the observation platform at a height of 25m via 117 steps. If the weather is clear, from here you have a wonderful panoramic view over the Frankenalb to Hohenstein Castle and to the west sometimes even up to the Frankenhöhe about 100 km away or to the foothills of the Bohemian and Steiger Forest. Note opening times! Opening times: May - October - weather permitting - Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Then the flag flies on the tower. The tower guard Ernst Stephan can be reached on tel. 0174 691 21 15 - also outside of opening hours. Outside of these opening times, the key to the tower is also available at the Edelweißhütte.
