The observation tower, completed in 1885, is a popular excursion destination on the Arzberg, at 612 m the highest point in Hersbrucker Switzerland. The tower is a landmark of this area that can be seen from afar. The Arzberg tower can be reached on well-marked footpaths through beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests. The viewing platform at a height of 25m is reached via 117 steps. From here, when the weather is clear, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Franconian Jura to Hohenstein Castle and, to the west, sometimes even to the Frankenhöhe, about 100km away, or to the foothills of the Bohemian and Steiger Forest. Opening times: At the moment there is the possibility to get the key against a deposit (20, - Euro) in the tourist information, Tel. 09151 735-401, in the citizen's office of the city of Hersbruck (opening times Mon - Fri 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Thu additionally from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.) or on weekends in the Edelweißhütte.
