The observation tower, completed in 1885, is a popular excursion destination on the Arzberg and at 612 meters the highest point in Hersbrucker Schweiz. The tower is a landmark of this area that can be seen from afar. It can be reached on well-marked footpaths through beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests. The viewing platform at a height of 25 meters can be reached via 117 steps. From here, when the weather is clear, you have a wonderful all-round view over the Frankenalb to Hohenstein Castle and to the west, sometimes even to the Frankenhöhe, about 100 kilometers away, or to the foothills of the Bohemian and Steigerwald.
Opening times: At the moment it is possible to borrow the key for a deposit (20 euros) from the tourist information office, Tel.

Great view from the tower (the key can be borrowed for a fee from the Edelweißhütte, about 1 kilometer away). There is also a table with benches right in front of the beautiful tower.

Such a beautiful tower! I would love to be up there, but I didn't ask for the key at the Edelweißhütte, the tip came too late for me....
