Trimberg Castle, but mostly referred to as Trimburg, is a medieval hilltop castle. The castle is closed on weekdays, but from May to October it is open on Sundays and public holidays. Tours can be booked from the Elfershausen municipal administration. On some weekends in the summer, cultural events take place at the castle. For example, there is a medieval market, theater and music performances.

The Trimburg has an interesting and eventful history. This was once the border between the prince-bishoprics of Würzburg and Fulda. Just as with secular rulers, there were frequent border disputes among the clergy.
