"In 1818, a benefactor had a journeyman mason build a chapel in Possenfelden without obtaining any prior permission from the church or state.
The requested permission to bless the church and celebrate Holy Mass was denied on November 4, 1819" (Archbishop's Ordinariate of Bamberg, January 11, 1923).
A short church chronicle of the Possenfelden chapel begins with the words: "During the reign of the King of Bavaria, His Eminence Maximilian Joseph, in the 12th year of Your Excellency, the strict district judge Johann Prescher in Gremsdorf.
