The location of Ruit is aptly described on the homepage of Bretten: "In the south of Bretten, in the idyllic Salzach Valley, nestled between forested slopes"
The old village center with the fountain and many beautifully renovated old houses is worth seeing. In particular the house of the local government with the memorial stone for the 750th anniversary - here further on the "Hintere Dorfstraße". And the courtyard on Ölbronner Strasse. This road is also a nice bike path towards Aalkistensee and on to Maulbronn. Alternatively, via "In the upper valley" and continue across a meadow.
Ruit has had a train station since 1908. Today the "RB17c" stops towards Mühlacker at the last stop in the KVV area. (As of 2020)
