Contrary to most maps, this mountain trail is completely paved and can be easily ridden on a racing bike. When the weather is good, the view of the surrounding Emmental is fantastic.
The final descent towards Schafhausen should be approached carefully. The asphalt is good, but the road is steep and forest work often takes place on the bend in the forest, so that vehicles can often be found there. Better to brake beforehand!

Road cycling

Once you reach the Aetzrüti, the view opens up over the wonderful Emmental hills. The descent towards Schafhausen in the Emmental is initially flatter along the hills and then becomes steeper and more winding on the last section. In the upper section you can really get into the flow: few bends, good roads (only the occasional potholes and gullies), and you can really get the bike going. The view during the ride is wonderful - over meadows, through forests and always with a side view of the neighboring hills.
