As in so many places in Hamburg, senior building director Fritz-Schumacher also worked here. After the end of the First World War, a settlement was to be built in Langenhorn to give large families and returnees a new home. The houses are designed uniformly, each of the 660 apartments has between 75 and 80 square meters, each plot 600 square meters. The result was a generously designed urban ensemble with small streets and lots of green spaces. This is how I wish for housing construction in Hamburg. Today the facility is managed as a cooperative. #
