In the school forest of Wiederstein (nursery garden) 50 different tree species have been cultivated on 5000sqm in the past 30 years (as of 2013).
In 2013, the signage was renewed by HVV Wiederstein, insect hotels were installed and the tree population was shown as far as possible. Under the guidance of environmental consultant Matthias Jung, youth worker Thilo Edelmann and with the help of the Heimatverein Wiederstein, ten trees and eight bushes could be replanted. These include the wild apple (tree of the year 2013) and the ginkgo tree known as the “living fossil”, which the kindergarten also sponsored.
