The village church of Schlalach was built in 1500 as a field stone church. A comprehensive renovation was carried out in 1862. Towards the end of the Second World War the top of the church tower was shot down, which has not been reconstructed until today

Cistercians built the previous church as early as 1215, and construction of the current church began at the beginning of the 15th century. The bell is from 1482.
In 1862 the building was given a neo-Gothic touch by installing new windows. A special feature is the carved altar, also from the 15th century, which probably comes from Wittenberg.
The old gravestones on the outer wall are also worth seeing. The richly decorated plate of the paper maker from the Schlalacher water mill is striking.
