In the small cave ledge there is even a wooden bench with a table and invites you to take a break.
The small cave is on the steep climb to the Regensteinburg in / from the parking lot.
If you step back from the cave on the way, you have a nice view up to the castle!

Looking from the Regenstein towards Halberstadt, a white spot stands out in the middle of the pine forest. Here in the "Heers", in a forest clearing the size of a soccer field, there are mighty sandstone cliffs in which caves have partially formed. The Dedingstein is located in the middle of the area, which is known in Blankenburg as "sandhutsche".
The sandstone caves below the rainstone are well hidden and are therefore among the insider tips in the Harz Mountains. Friends of the Harz hiking pin have chosen this place as the "Most Beautiful Stamp Site of the Year 2009".
The originality and the power of nature become clear here. In ancient times, the Germanic tribes are said to have used this place as a meeting place. From the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century, pure white parlor sand was extracted here. At first glance, the sandstone cliffs also resemble the chalk cliffs on Rügen.
