Finds (ceramic fragments and silver coins) from the Middle Ages were found in the former moat. The latest findings from experts from the Linz City Museum in Nordico also clearly demonstrate settlement activities in the region around Engerwitzdorf and the Gallneukirchen basin from the Stone Age to the time of the Neanderthals around 40,000 to 50,000 years ago.
