About 500 meters north of the Eisenhammer charcoal kiln, there is a long, flat boulder on the edge of the forest. Luther often rested at this spot when he used the old trade route from Wittenberg to Leipzig. From here he is said to have spoken to Wittenberg students who accompanied him to this spot on his way to the Reichstag in Worms. The carved letters: "D.M.L. - A Mighty Fortress is God" are no longer easy to read (D.M.L. = Dr. Martin Luther).
