I particularly like this bridge over the leash, the view is pretty in both directions. The city charter of Hanover from 1241 shows that high quality cloth from Flanders was brought to Hanover with barges on a leash at that time. Via the Hanover trading center, barges were used to continue across Aller and Weser e.g. Grain for Holland and sheep's wool for textile processing transported in Western Europe
