Hanging Rock, located not far from the well-known Moro Rock, offers an amazing view of a large granite feature perched on an open area overlooking the Kaweah River. If you're descending (or ascending) the Moro Rock Trail, it's worth taking a short detour to Hanging Rock for the impressive views and unique rock formation.

The Hanging Rock is very close to the even better known Moro Rock and also offers a view of it.

If you descend from Moro Rock via the Moro Rock Trail (or of course also ascend), you should accept the very small detour to Hanging Rock - the view and the rock are really impressive!
