The core of the culture days was the wood sculpture symposium. The artists had the task of creating sculptures for the dam trail in ten days, which can be used as a seat. The accompanying program included an artists' market, a live music event on the dam, a children's day of action, a public film screening and actions to mark the 250th anniversary of the invention of the Thuringian porcelain. The aim of the joint cultural project was to promote cooperation between the Schwarzatal communities and, at the same time, to raise the profile of the young dam. The municipalities have been working together in the Rennsteig-Schwarzatal Tourist Association since 2012. Cultural events are organized at regular intervals in the towns around the dam.
