Superb fortress cannon tube called "the Formidable". Weighing 5.600 kg, 4.20 meters long and sunk at Douai in 1811, it was not used at Ligny. Erected in 1969, the monument commemorates the civil and military work of Napoleon and was largely subsidized by the society of the Legion of Honor. The tube is a loan from the Porte de Hal Museum in Brussels.
